The computing experience sucks compared to a Windows computer.Īndroid tablets are all compromise with no true excellent options.

The overall tablet experience is amazing, the battery life can't be beat, and the tablet will easily last you 6 years. If you want a great tablet with great handwriting support, get the iPad and try to put up with the limits on OneNote functionality. The computer experience is top notch, but the tablet experience flat out sucks. Doesn't have to be the Microsoft device, check out options from competitors like HP. If you want to do OneNote, skip everything and just get a Windows device. I love OneNote in general, but on my iPad I switch to GoodNotes b/c it's frankly a better handwritten notes experience. I've been a OneNote user since ~2004 and have done handwriting in OneNote forever (even had a tablet PC back in the 2004/2005 timeframe that let me do Ink). I've done OneNote on a Surface Pro and on the newest gen iPad Air (which I got for the Pencil 2 support while saving hundreds over iPad Pros). All the products have there own ups and downs. Overall just look for what you really need. On tiktok there's a guy who makes chem, bio, and more notes with drawings that look amazing. Finally for the opad I don't have that either but I have seen some pretty beautiful notes. Android I have not used so I can't say anything in that front. With larger ink sizes it masks it but if you like writing with a fi e point you will notice it.

The surface uses ntrig as it's hand rejection for writing and I notice I never have smooth straight lines. Overall they are all great but the iPad most likely has the better handwriting. One of the things I am jealous is the page feature that is in good notes because in one notes it's just long continuous pages. Good notes and notability seem amazing and the amount of writing features are insane. For the iPad I got to say other then onenote they have microsoft and others beat on note taking apps. But I have to give the tab credits for dex if you need the functionality. I don't have to much experience with android note taking but I do know that one note is not as fleshed out.

You could try looking into an older surface at a higher spec if you just need a tablet. If you are looking for all the o e note feature nothing beats the surface. I have a surface pro 7 at the moment ant it has been great.
